President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was present at some of the Group of 77 and China’s sessions during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Expo City Dubai.

He warmly welcomed the attending leaders, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among developing countries to further mutual interests and their participation in global matters, as demonstrated by the group’s gatherings.

The President voiced the UAE’s dedication to boosting international collaboration for achieving the ambitious objectives of COP28. This includes hastening the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon, and economically strong framework by adopting effective, practical solutions to the urgent worldwide climate issue.

The attendees commended the UAE for hosting these critical meetings, a first in the history of COP. They noted that the meetings provided essential forums for discussing common issues, shared challenges, and forming strategic responses, underlining the necessity for collective action and cooperation among the group’s nations.
